Country Style Smothered Chicken Recipe
This is one my grandma use to make alot it was so good I always had my mom make it. Now I do. I thing you will love this!

Ingredients
  • 2 slices bacon
  • 2 1/2 to 3 pound broiler-fryer chicken, cut up
  • 1 can (10 3/4 oz.) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil leaves, crushed
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • Hot cooked rice

Directions
  1. 1. In 10 inch skillet over med. heat cook bacon until crisp, Transfer to paper towels to drain, reserving dripping in pan. Crumble bacon set aside.
  2. 2. Over med. heat, in hot drippings, cook chicken 10 mins. or until browned on all sides. spoon off fat.
  3. 3. Add soup, garlic, and basil; stir until smooth. Heat to boiling. Reduse heat to low. cover; simmer 20 mins.
  4. 4. Add onion. cover; simmer15 mins. more or until chicken is tender and juices run clear, stirring occasionally. Sprinkle with crumbled bacon. serve with rice.
  5. My mother also used boneless skinless chicken breast cut up.
