Southwest-style Stuffed Cheesburgers

- 2 oz. canned diced green chilies shopping list
- 2 Tbsp diced monterey jack cheese, regular or with peppers shopping list
- 1 Tbsp butter, softened shopping list
- 2 cloves garlic, minced shopping list
- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef shopping list
- salt and ground black pepper shopping list
- 4 hamurger rolls or grilled sourdough bread shopping list
- green leaf lettuce,sliced avocado, and sliced tomato shopping list
How to make it
- In a small bowl combine chilies,cheese,butter and garlic blend well
- divide ground beef into four,3/4 cup pieces. Place 1 piece on cutting board;divide in half. Flatten each half into thin patty about 4 inches wide. Season each half with salt and pepper. Place 2 Tbsp cheese mixture in center of patty;cover with other patty.Pinch edges together to seal. shape burger ntil round and slightly flattened. Season again with salt and pepper,repeat with remaining ground beef and cheese mixture.
- Preheat grill to medium hot. Grill burgers about six minutes on each side or until desired doneness. DO NOT FLATTEN BURGERS WITH SPATULA. Remove from grill, let stand two minutes, Garnish as desired.
