How to make it

  • Cream margarine and sugar
  • Add egg yolks, beat well
  • Reserve whites
  • Blend dry ingredients together
  • Add to margarine mixture alternately with the milk
  • Add vanilla, mix.
  • Spread in greased 9x13 pan
  • Sprinkle with half of the nuts.
  • Beat the whites until very stiff
  • Add the brown sugar, beat well.
  • Spread carefully over the batter and nuts already in pan.
  • Sprinkle with the remaining nuts
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes
  • Cool, cut in squares.

    Love meringues, wish it weren't so humid here so they wouldn't weep, but first dry spell we get,I'm going to give this a shot. Yummmy.
