Babki Smietankowe Filled Baba Tried and True

- 2 cups butter at room temperature shopping list
- 1 cup granulated sugar shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 3 egg whites shopping list
- 2-1/2 cups all purpose flour shopping list
- 3 egg yolks shopping list
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar shopping list
- 3/4 cup whipping cream shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/4 cup fine bread crumbs shopping list
How to make it
- Beat butter at high speed of an electric mixer then gradually add sugar and cream until fluffy.
- Beat in whole eggs and 2 of the egg whites.
- Stir in flour and mix well.
- Combine egg yolks, sugar, whipping cream and salt in the top of a double boiler or heavy saucepan.
- Cook and stir until custard is thickened then set aside to cool a few minutes.
- Generously grease muffin pan cups and coat with fine dry bread crumbs.
- Line each cup with 1 tablespoon of the dough then spoon in 2 tablespoons of the custard and top with more dough.
- Beat reserved egg white until just foamy and brush top of each then bake at 350 for 25 minutes.
