Cherry Puddles Cake Recipe
It's a cake, no it's a pie, no it's a cake...so was the argument when I first made this! It's a "puddle" of cherry goodness :)

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened (I used margarine)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1-20 ounce can cherry pie filling

Directions
  1. In a bowl, mix soften margarine and sugar.
  2. Beat in buttermilk, eggs, lemon juice and vanilla.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour and baking soda.
  4. Add to creamed mixture.
  5. Coat a 13x9x2-inch paking pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  6. Pour batter into pan.
  7. Use a knife to "divide" batter into 24 rectangles.
  8. Spoon a small amount of cherry pie filling onto center of each rectangle.
  9. Bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes.
