Beef And Potato Moussaka Recipe
A cheap and easy take on the original moussaka.

Ingredients
  • 4 large baking potatoes
  • 450g lean minced beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 jar of tomatoe pasta sauce
  • 2 eggs, yolks only
  • 350g natural yoghurt
  • 75g grated cheddar

Directions
  1. cut the potatoes into thick slices, boil for 20-25 mins until cooked and drain.
  2. Brown the mince in the frying pan.
  3. Add the onion and cook for five mins.
  4. Add the pasta sauce and simmer for 15 mins.
  5. Tip the mixture into a large oven proof dish and arrange potato slices to cover completely.
  6. mix the two egg yolks, the yoghurt and cheese.
  7. pour yoghurt mixture over the potatoes and bake on gas mark 7 for 1 hour.

This is a very interesting take on Moussaka without the bechamel sauce. This looks very tasty and is probably loads healthier that the traditional style. Thanks!
