A rich creamy almond flavored pie with a unique crunchy crust

Ingredients
  • Cook time includes time to chill pie
  • 5 oz chow mein noodles
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds
  • 5 tablespoons butter or margarine melted
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 3.5 oz pacakge vanilla instant pie filling
  • 2 and 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  2. Place noodles and almonds in blender or food processor
  3. Blend until finely ground
  4. In medium bowl combine noodle mixture, butter, and sugar mixing well
  5. Place noodle mixture in a 9 inch pie plate pressing onto bottom and up the sides to form pie crust
  6. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes until crust is lightly browned
  7. Cool pie shell completly
  8. In a medium bowl combine pudding mix, milk, sour cream and almond extract
  9. Beat with mixer 1 to 2 minutes until well blended
  10. Pour into cooled pie shell
  11. Refrigerate at least one hour before serving
