How to make it

  • Combine sugar, flour, and egg in a medium saucepan. Gradually stir in milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Cover and chill thoroughly.
  • Place strawberries evenly in 6 (3/4 cup) oven-proof ramekins or custard cups.
  • Spoon custard mixture evenly over strawberries, and sprinkle evenly with brown sugar. Place ramekins on a baking sheet. Broil 5 1/2" from heat (with electric oven door partially opened) 2 to 3 minutes ro until sugar melts. Serve immediately.
  • 115 calories, 1.6g fat per serving.
