I never use store bought imitation vanilla. This is the best!

Ingredients
  • 1 vanilla bean-cut in half lengthwise and then crosswise in pieces
  • 2 1/2 oz Cognac

Directions
  1. Place vanilla bean pieces in a bottle with an airtight lid. Cover with the Cognac. Close tightly and store at room temperature. Shake the bottle every few days. Take 2-3 weeks to reach full flavor. Strain and put in another bottle. This is “REAL” extract and will never smell like the grocery store "imitation" vanilla.
  2. The vanilla bean pieces can be used 2-3 times.
