Grapefruit Alaska

- 2 grapefruits shopping list
- 4 tablespoons Curacao shopping list
- 1 pint vanilla ice cream shopping list
- 2 egg whites shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar shopping list
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar shopping list
How to make it
- Cut grapefruit into halves then carefully remove fruit.
- Peel off white membrane and discard seeds.
- Return fruit to shells then flavor each half with 1 tablespoon Curacao.
- Divide vanilla ice cream among the shells spreading ice cream to edges.
- Beat egg whites with cream of tartar then gradually beat in sugar.
- Continue beating until meringue is stiff.
- Spread over ice cream and bring meringue over cut edge of shell.
- Bake in preheated 450 oven for 5 minutes.
- Serve immediately.
