Frikadellan - German Style Meat Balls Recipe
This is German recipe, but my mom cooked these for us as kids, so we thought it was Dutch! It can also be made into flat patties instead of meatballs.

Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 3 small onions, diced
  • 1 T. oil
  • 8 T. breadcrumbs or 2 slices white bread
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 t. basil
  • 2 t. salt
  • 2 t. pepper
  • 2 t. flour
  • 5 T. oil

Directions
  1. Mix ground meats together in a mixing bowl.
  2. Peel and dice the onions, then saute in oil until transparent. Add sauteed onions to meat mixture.
  3. Stir together breadcrumbs and milk, and add to meat mixture. Add basil, salt, pepper, flour and mix well.
  4. Dampen hands and form meat mixture into meatballs or flat patties. Fry on both sides in oil until golden brown.
