How to make it

  • In a large skillet, cook bacon until crisp.
  • Remove from pan
  • Cook onion and pepper in bacon fat for 5 minutes
  • Add next 3 ingredients
  • Simmer covered for 15 minutes
  • Cut shrimp into pieces and add to skillet
  • Add ham mixture and heat well
  • Thicken with blended cornstarch and water; season with salt and pepper to taste
  • Serve over hot rice
