Eagle Brand Substitution Recipe

Eagle Brand Substitution Recipe
This is supposed to be a good substitute for Eagle Brand. I've never tried it but I suppose if I was in a pinch it would be worth it!

Got it bookmarked! like you say, in a pinch, only I would use butter, I don't us Margarine.. but my hubby love 'Smart Beat with flax seed'.. but I don't cook with it..

I was going to post a similar recipe--half the quantity. I've used it before, works fine so far. I think it is a little thinner? There are other recipes for this that call for it to be cooked, that probably thickens it. You can also make it without the butter to lower the fat content.

Hi Michelle. This is really a great and usefull one for many recipes and thanks to Shirleyoma for mentioning that we can use butter instead og Margarine.

I have made this, using Splenda, and it came out fine. I always cook mine over low heat until thickened, then let cool. Great for diabetics.
