How to make it

  • Combine the buttermilk, melted butter and egg in a medium sized bowl.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the buckwheat and white flour, sugar, soda and salt. Add the dry ingredients into the egg-mixture and stir until the two have just combined.
  • Heat your griddle (or large frying pan) to medium-hot, and add 1 tablespoon of margarine, butter, or oil. Let the butter melt prior to adding the batter to the frying pan, then create 4 inch pancakes out of the batter. After bubbles have formed on top, flip and cook on the other side for about 3 minutes. Continue this process until all of you batter has been used.

    I absolutely love this one!The best ever! I made it twice since last week. I only put 3 TBSP of white flour and substituted the rest 3 with whole wheat, but the rest is great! thank you so much for sharing. This recipe is definately a keeper!
