How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350
  • Combine sauce ingredients in saucepan and bring to a boil over med-high heat
  • brown hamburger or saute chicken for 7-9 minutes; drain.
  • remove meat from pan
  • saute onions and salt 4-6 minutes
  • add garlic, oregano, and meat. mix and cook a few more minutes
  • In a 9x13 pan, layer sauce, then tortillas dipped in the sauce first (3 whole and 2 halves to cover), meat, then cheese. Repeat for 3 layers.
  • Cover and bake for 30 minutes, then uncover and bake 10 more minutes.
  • Let sit 5 minutes before serving.
