Old Fashioned Egg Custard Pie Recipe
Another recipe I obtained from an estate sale in the early 80's. If you like custard and you likes pies try this, you can't go wrong.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1-1/2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • 2 egg whites
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

Directions
  1. Combine sugar, flour, salt and nutmeg.
  2. Beat 4 egg yolks and 2 egg whites.
  3. Add to dry ingredients.
  4. Beat well then add milk gradually and stir in melted butter.
  5. Pour in unbaked pie shell/
  6. Bake at 400 for 30 minutes.
  7. Beat 2 egg whites with sugar.
  8. Spread over pie.
  9. Bake at 325 for 15 minutes.
