How to make it

  • For uncooked prawns:
  • Fill a large pot with water and bring to boil.
  • Dump in prawns (in shells) and when water again boils, stir for about 3 minutes until bright pink.
  • Shell prawns.
  • For cooked/frozen and shelled prawns:
  • Dump prawns into colander and run cold water over them until they thaw out. Drain.
  • Mix all ingredients (except the prawns) into a large measuring cup.
  • Place shelled prawns in shallow broiling pan.
  • Pour marinade over prawns and marinate at least 30 minutes. The longer, the better the flavor.
  • Preheat broiler to 500 degrees F.
  • Place broiling pan about 4 inches from the heat and broil approximately 10 minutes.
  • Serve over long grain brown rice.
  • Serves 2 - 4...depending on their appetite and whatever else you'll be serving at the meal.
  • Alternative: You may also use scallops or shrimp instead of the prawns. I've only ever tried the recipe with the prawns or very large shrimp.
