Apple Kuchen

- 2 cups flour shopping list
- ½ cup sugar shopping list
- ¼ teasp salt shopping list
- ½ teasp vanilla shopping list
- ½ lb butter, cold and cut into pieces shopping list
- 1 lb cream cheese shopping list
- ¾ cup sugar shopping list
- 1 teasp vanilla shopping list
- 1 egg, room temp shopping list
- 1½ teasp cinnamon shopping list
- 3 granny smith apples, peeled, cored and sliced thin shopping list
How to make it
- For Crust: preheat oven to 450oF.
- Lightly grease and flour 9x13" pan.
- Mix together flour, sugar and salkt in a large bowl.
- Add vanilla and cut in butter pieces until a few at a time until the mixture resembles cornmeal.
- Press into prepared pan and bake until slightly golden, approximately 12 to 15 minutes. Set aside to cool and prepare filling.
- For Filling: Breat cream cheese sugar and vanilla until creamy.
- Add eggs and mix to combine.
- Pour over cooled crust.
- Mix together 3/4 cup sugar and cinnamon, toss apples in cinnamon mixture.
- Place the apples atop the cream cheese mixture in two or three columns. Sprinkle with extra sugar mixture.
- Bake until firm and golden brown approximately 20 minutes.
