Butter Pecan Ice Cream

- 2 sticks unsalted butter shopping list
- 1 1/3 c chopped pecans shopping list
- 2 (13-ounce) cans evaporated milk shopping list
- 2 (3 3/4-ounce) packages instant French vanilla pudding mix shopping list
- 2 c sugar shopping list
- 2 t vanilla extract shopping list
- 6 c whole milk shopping list
How to make it
- Melt the butter in a small saucepan.
- Cook the pecans over low heat until they are lightly browned, about 3 minutes.
- Place on a paper towel to drain and cool.
- In large bowl, combine the remaining ingredients.
- Whisk until the sugar is dissolved.
- Chill for 1 hour.
- Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and freeze according to manufacturers' instructions.
- Add the pecans 10 minutes into the freezing.
- (Makes 4 qt)
