How to make it

  • Over medium-low heat, melt the butter or margarine in a 3-quart pot, then add the onion and garlic powders and corn syrup. Let cook for 1 minute, but do not allow to brown.
  • Add the flour, white pepper, salt, chicken broth, water, and cooked vegetables and simmer for 3 minutes.
  • Stir in the half-and-half and simmer, stirring constantly, until your desired consistency is reached. Do not allow it to come to a boil.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley and serve.
