How to make it

  • Remove the fat and skin from the chicken and cut into 8 serving pieces.
  • Heat the oil in a large saucepan. Add the onion, garlic, green chilis and ginger; cook until brown.
  • Add the tomatoes, red chilis, turmeric, coriander and salt; cover and cook on medium to low heat for 30 to 40 minutes, stirring occasionally, to prevent sticking to bottom. Add water, if necessary, and cook until chicken is done.
  • Sprinkle cilantro over chicken and serve with steamed rice.
