Bechamel Cream

- 1 litre milk (or four glasses) shopping list
- 2 – 3 table spoonfuls of butter* shopping list
- 2 – 3 table spoonfuls of flour shopping list
- 3 eggs shopping list
- 100 g of grated myzithra cheese shopping list
- salt shopping list
- ground nutmeg shopping list
- *Instead of butter you may use olive oil, it’s much healthier. shopping list
How to make it
- Pre-heat milk.
- In a saucepan melt butter making sure it does not brown. Add flour and mix thoroughly, add salt and nutmeg. Add the warm milk, stirring constantly, until the sauce is thick and creamy. If it becomes too thick add some milk. Beat the eggs and add gradually little at a time slowly, but stirring constantly until all absorbed. Add grated myzithra cheese and stir.
- Tips: Make it lighter and healthier.
- *Instead of butter you may use olive oil, use low fat milk, for those who have cholesterol, use less eggs or no eggs, omit cheese!
