Detroit Style Chili Verde

- 2 LBS boneless chicken breast cubed or cubed pork shopping list
- 1 14 oz can chicken broth shopping list
- 1 white onion(diced) shopping list
- 1 15 oz can great northern beans (optional) shopping list
- 1 10 oz can enchilada sauce shopping list
- 1 16oz jar salsa verde shopping list
- 1 tbsp cumin shopping list
- 1 tbsp flour shopping list
- 1 tsp garlic powder shopping list
- 1/2 tsp oregano shopping list
- 4 tbsp cooking oil shopping list
- green habenaro sauce (optional) shopping list
- 2 jalapeno peppers(diced) shopping list
How to make it
- Heat oil in large skillet. Add chicken and diced onion and brown till chicken is fully cooked. Add chicken broth, cover and bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes. Add remaining ingredients, except habenaro sauce, and simmer for 50 minutes (add water if chili is too thick). Add habenaro sauce to your own preference.(I like it HOT!) Simmer 10 more minutes and serve with corn bread and butter or oyster crackers.
