How to make it

  • Melt 1/2 the butter in heavy saucepan.
  • Saute garlic until fragrant.
  • Add tomatoes with juice and sprinkle with sugar.
  • Add other 1/2 stick of butter.
  • Add salt and pepper and cover for 15 minutes, simmering over low heat.
  • Add dry red wine and simmer for another 5 minutes.
  • Serve over steaks, chicken or anything else you enjoy!
