This rich and flavorful tea, made Indian style, is a quick and delicious afternoon treat. Sweetened mainly with apple and/or pear slices, it is also low in sugar! For a reduced-fat option, use 2% milk instead of whole. Skim milk not recommended.

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 1 1/2 c. whole milk
  • 2 teabags Taj Mahal or other black tea
  • 1/4 apple, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 pear, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp. ginger, peeled and minced
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • dash of nutmeg

Directions
  1. In a saucepan, bring water and milk to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat and add tea, letting it simmer 2-3 minutes, until the color of the liquid has deepened.
  3. Add apple, pear, ginger, sugar, and nutmeg. Let simmer for another 4-5 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat, and pour through tea strainer (or coffee filter) into teacups or mugs.
  5. Serve hot and fresh!

Great aromatic recipe! I don't drink milk so will have to use a substitute, maybe almond milk. Sounds so good.. Thanks for sharing.
