I GREW UP WITH THESE CROUTONS FOR MY SOUP. I USUALLY MAKE THIS FOR MY SPLIT PEA SOUP. YOU CAN USE THIS FOR ANYTHING

Ingredients
  • BREAD ANY KIND I USUALLY USE WHITE, I KNOW SO UNHEALTHY!
  • BUTTER, LOTS AND LOTS OF BUTTER.
  • OPTIONAL:
  • SEASONING YOU WISH. I ONLY USE SALT AND PEPPER. UNLESS THERE IS SOMETHING SPECIAL I NEED TO ADD FLAVOR TOO.

Directions
  1. BUTTER BREAD
  2. HEAT FRY PAN
  3. CUT BREAD IN SQUARES
  4. FRY AWAY, KEEP TOSSING BREAD AS IT BROWNS
  5. I MORE TIMES THAN OFTEN JUST ADD BUTTER TO THE FRY PAN AND TOSS IN THE BREAD AND KEEP FRYING, TOSSING AND ADDING MORE BUTTER IF NEED BE.

Exactly as I do...bread and butter, maybe garlic or a few herbs. Main thing...just keep tossing and turning in that butter!! Could eat a plate of just croutons! :)

Just had a package of hot dog buns I didn't know what to do with. This sure worked great. My husband didn't think it would be good using hot dog buns. He is now making a salad to have with them. After trying to eat a portion of them by themselves on a plate. Go figure.


Sounds good to me and something that could even be made at the last minute if need be. Great Post!
