Ingredients

How to make it

  • -Peel, core, and quarter apples. If you have a corer/peeler/slicer, slicer, that's good too, less main cooking time. Save peel, and core. Put some cores, seeds, and peels, into a cheese cloth pouch, for pectin, and place in the slow cooker. As you prepare the apples, put them right in the cooker, no need for a separate bowl
  • -Add cider, and cook on high until the mixture is mushy. It takes about 3hrs on high for slices, 4hrs for quarters.
  • -Remove pouch.
  • -Blend w/ an immersion blender or a hand mixer.
  • -Cover and cook for another hour or so.
  • -Add remaining ingredients. Stir occasionally.
  • -Cover and cook until "Butter Like".
  • -Cool down w/ lid off. Add more apple cider if needed.
  • -Cool, Store, Can, or freeze.

Great with Cheese and/or Cheese Breads.
