How to make it

  • Cut the figs in small pieces and pour the water over them.
  • Add the applesauce and cinnamon, stir and allow this to set for a while so the figs can become a pasty mass. Stir in the hazelnuts.
  • Cut the manicotti shells in half cross-wise.
  • Place a small amount of the fig mass inside each tube half.
  • Place the manicottis in the refrigerator until serving.
  • Serve chilled, with a sprinkling of ground nuts on the top.
