Ingredients
  • 2/3 cup dried figs, chopped
  • ¼ cup boiling water
  • ¼ cup thick, chunky applesauce or apple butter
  • 1 box manicotti shells, cooked and drained
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp ground hazelnuts

Directions
  1. Cut the figs in small pieces and pour the water over them.
  2. Add the applesauce and cinnamon, stir and allow this to set for a while so the figs can become a pasty mass. Stir in the hazelnuts.
  3. Cut the manicotti shells in half cross-wise.
  4. Place a small amount of the fig mass inside each tube half.
  5. Place the manicottis in the refrigerator until serving.
  6. Serve chilled, with a sprinkling of ground nuts on the top.
