Deep DarK Chocolate Cake

- • 2 ¼ cups all purpose unbleached white flour shopping list
- • 1 cup unsweetened Hershey Dark cocoa powder shopping list
- • 2 teaspoons baking soda shopping list
- • 1 teaspoon baking powder shopping list
- • 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- • 2 cups granulated sugar shopping list
- • 2 eggs shopping list
- • 1 cup cold brewed espresso roast coffee shopping list
- • 1 tbs vinegar shopping list
- • 1 cup milk (or use buttermilk and omit vinegar) shopping list
- • 1 stick butter, melted shopping list
How to make it
- 1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour bundt pan or 2 round cake pans..
- 2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, powder, cocoa, and salt. Sift this mixture together 3 times. Then add the sugar and mix well.
- 3. Add in the eggs, coffee, buttermilk (or milk and vinegar) and melted butter. Mix until smooth, but do not over mix. Pour into prepared pan.
- 4. Bake in preheated oven for 45 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool on wire rack.
- 5. Frost with Bittersweet Chocolate frosting or dust with powdered sugar if using Bundt pan.
- Note: Can use a 9x13 baking pan and bake for 40 min.
