How to make it

  • 1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour bundt pan or 2 round cake pans..
  • 2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, powder, cocoa, and salt. Sift this mixture together 3 times. Then add the sugar and mix well.
  • 3. Add in the eggs, coffee, buttermilk (or milk and vinegar) and melted butter. Mix until smooth, but do not over mix. Pour into prepared pan.
  • 4. Bake in preheated oven for 45 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool on wire rack.
  • 5. Frost with Bittersweet Chocolate frosting or dust with powdered sugar if using Bundt pan.
  • Note: Can use a 9x13 baking pan and bake for 40 min.
