Deep DarK Chocolate Cake Recipe
This is a moist cake that is so dark it is almost black.

Ingredients
  • • 2 ¼ cups all purpose unbleached white flour
  • • 1 cup unsweetened Hershey Dark cocoa powder
  • • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • • 2 eggs
  • • 1 cup cold brewed espresso roast coffee
  • • 1 tbs vinegar
  • • 1 cup milk (or use buttermilk and omit vinegar)
  • • 1 stick butter, melted

Directions
  1. 1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour bundt pan or 2 round cake pans..
  2. 2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, powder, cocoa, and salt. Sift this mixture together 3 times. Then add the sugar and mix well.
  3. 3. Add in the eggs, coffee, buttermilk (or milk and vinegar) and melted butter. Mix until smooth, but do not over mix. Pour into prepared pan.
  4. 4. Bake in preheated oven for 45 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool on wire rack.
  5. 5. Frost with Bittersweet Chocolate frosting or dust with powdered sugar if using Bundt pan.
  6. Note: Can use a 9x13 baking pan and bake for 40 min.
