Ingredients

How to make it

  • Chop the pepper as fine as you can. Wear gloves if you can. Be careful of the pithe, it is very hot. I take out all of the seeds & as much of the pithe as I can.
  • Chop/dice the tomatoes. The acid from the tomatoes will help get the hottness off of your fingers.
  • Mince the garlic & chop the onion.
  • Add the juice of the lemon or lime and then taste. Add salt to taste. I prefer kosher or sea salt.
  • Chop the cilantro & combine. Let sit for an hour or two before deciding to add any more pepper. The salsa will get hotter the longer it sits.
  • Serve with tortilla chips.

I grow Habeneros in my organic garden along with some other hot ones. I have not used one yet in a salsa.
Send in some more tasty ways for Habeneros please.

    Hi Onedegree
I sounds yummy, but what can you substitute for the cilantro (I think it tastes like soap)?
