Frosted Brownies Divine

- For Brownies: shopping list
- 1 cup butter or margarine shopping list
- 3 squares unsweetened chocolate shopping list
- 4 eggs, beaten shopping list
- 2 cups sugar shopping list
- 1-1/2 cups flour shopping list
- 1 tsp. baking powder shopping list
- 1 cup chopped pecans (optional) shopping list
- 2 tsp. vanilla shopping list
- 4 cups mini marshmallows shopping list
- Note: I prefer to add the miniature marshmallows to the brownie mixture. shopping list
- For Frosting: shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 3/4 cup evaporated milk shopping list
- 1/2 cup margarine shopping list
- 2 squares unsweetened chocolate shopping list
- 1 box powdered sugar (1 lb.) shopping list
- 1 tsp. vanilla shopping list
How to make it
- Melt margarine and chocolate in top of double boiler amd set aside. Combine eggs and sugar, beating well.
- Add flour and baking powder which have been sifted together, mixing well.
- Add chocolate mixture, pecans and vanilla.
- Pour into 2 greased 9 x 13 pans and bake at 325 for 20 minutes. Remove brownies from oven and cover top with marshmallows. Return to oven for 5 minutes or just until marshmallows melt.
- Frost brownies while warm.
- Note: I prefer a thicker brownie as opposed to a thinner one so I use one 9 x 13 pyrex baking dish.
- For Frosting:
- Combine sugar, milk, butter or margarine and chocolate; cook over medium low heat until soft ball stage (236 degrees).
- Add powdered sugar and vanilla.
- Beat until smooth.
- Spread over brownies while warm.
- Cut into squares when cool.
