This is a great recipe that is a wonderful alternative to apple cider or plain tea. Great for entertaining because it look so beautiful in a clear glass mug with apple slices floating on the top.

Ingredients
  • 1 lemon
  • 4 cups apple juice
  • 2 cups water
  • 4 inches cinnamon stick
  • 1 Tbl chopped ginger
  • 1 tea whole cloves
  • 6 bleack tea bags
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 6 inch square 100% cotton cheesecloth
  • 16 thin slices of apple (optional)

Directions
  1. Use a vegetable peeler to remove strips of the peel of the lemon; set aside.
  2. Squeeze juice from lemon.
  3. combine apple juice, water, and 1 tablespoon of the lemon juice in a large saucepan. (save remaining lemon juice).
  4. For the pice bag, place cinnamon, cloves, and lemon peel strips in the center of double thick cheese cloth.
  5. bring corners together and tie with clean string and add bag to apple juice mixture.
  6. Bring mixture to a boil; reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
  7. Add tea bags cover and stand 5 minutes. Remove tea bags and spice bag and discard.
  8. Stir in maple syrup.
  9. Serve in mus. If desired float appple slices on top of each servinng.
