How to make it

  • Blend oatmeal to a powder in a blender.
  • Beat eggs, add extract, sugar, milk, cream and salt.
  • Gently add bread, raisins, almonds, pie filling and oatmeal. Mix just until bread soaks up some sauce.
  • Put in fridge to set for one hour.
  • Spray slow cooker, then add bread mixture.
  • Set cooker to high, no longer than two hours or you'll have mush. Test it with a knife like a cake - should come out clean.
  • Mix up all ingredients to make sauce. Stir until it thickens a little.
  • Pour over individual servings of pudding.
