This is a holiday twist on the old rice crispy square

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped dates
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups rice krispies
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • chopped coconut

Directions
  1. Combine first 6 ingredients in a frying pan over low heat. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring constantly.
  2. Cool, add 3 cups of rice krispies or a similar cereal, and 1/2 cup chopped nuts.
  3. Mix the cereal into the date mixture well. Form into balls and roll each ball in chopped coconut
