Hearty Corn Chowder

- 5 strips bacon, cut in small pieces shopping list
- 1 medium onion, chopped shopping list
- 3 medium potatoes,unpeeled,scrubbed and cut in small pieces shopping list
- water shopping list
- 2 cans kernel corn shopping list
- 1/2 to 1 c. milk or evaporated milk shopping list
- 1/4 c. flour shopping list
- 1/2 c. cold water shopping list
How to make it
- Fry bacon in large pot till almost crisp.
- Add onion and fry till cooked.
- Add potatoes to the pot.
- Add just enough water to cover the potatoes. Simmer till tender.
- Add the corn. Simmer a few minutes.
- Add 1/2 to 1c. milk (enough to make the desired ratio of corn, potatoes and liquid.
- Mix 1/4c. flour into 1/2c. cold water, stir till smooth. Stir into the soup and bring to boil, just until thickened.
- Salt and pepper to taste.
