Mushroom Pate

- 1 dl rice (about 80 g) shopping list
- 500 g mushrooms (champignon), coarsely chopped shopping list
- 3 onions, chopped (about 225 g) shopping list
- 1 clove garlic, chopped shopping list
- 50 g hazelnuts, chopped shopping list
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme shopping list
- 50 g butter shopping list
- 2 eggs (medium size) shopping list
- 1/4 liter of cream shopping list
- 2 teaspoons salt shopping list
- freshly ground pepper shopping list
- Tip: I need to watch my cholesterol so, in most recipes, I usually substitute butter with olive oil and cream with evaporated milk. shopping list
How to make it
- Boil the rice following directions on the package. Let it cool down a bit.
- Mix mushrooms, onions, garlic, hazelnuts and thyme.
- Melt butter in a big pan and stir fry the mushroom mixture.
- Pour the mixture into a bowl.
- Add rice, eggs, cream, salt and pepper and mix thoroughly.
- Pour mixture in a greased baking dish (about 1 1/2 l) and bake, uncovered, at 175ÂșC for 1 hour.
- Serve warm as main course or cold with bread as an appetizer.
