Plantain Stem and Green Gram Sabji Recipe

- plantain stem (finely chopped) – 3 cups shopping list
- Green Gram – 100 gm shopping list
- coconut – ½ cup shopping list
- cumin seeds – ¼ tsp shopping list
- turmeric powder – ½ tsp shopping list
- Green chillies – 3 nos shopping list
- coconut oil – 3 tbsp shopping list
- garlic pods – 4 nos shopping list
- salt – As reqd shopping list
- For seasoning shopping list
- curry leaves – As reqd shopping list
- Plain rice – 1 tbsp shopping list
- Dry red chillies – 2 nos shopping list
- mustard seeds – 1 tsp shopping list
How to make it
- Wash the green gram well and remove the unwanted stuff from it.
- Cook it separately with water in a pressure cooker.
- Cut the Plantain Stem into roundels and simultaneously, loop its serum onto your fingers to get rid of it.
- After this is done, chop the round pieces of Plantain stem very finely into small squares.
- Place together the grated coconut, green chillies, garlic, turmeric powder and cumin seeds in a mixer bowl and run it once to
- make it into a coarse form.
- Mix together the finely chopped Plantain stem , the above coconut mixture and salt. Heat oil in a pan .
- Splutter mustard seeds and sauté red chillies, rice and curry leaves.
- Add the stem mixture and mix well.
- Cover and cook until the plantain stem is cooked properly.
- Remove the lid and add the cooked green gram and mix well.
- Continue cooking, till done without the lid on.
- Make sure the sabji doesn’t get overcooked or mashed.
