Cocorummer
From jesuslincoln 16 years agoIngredients
- 2 Long Island iced tea glasses shopping list
- Bottle of dark rum (I prefer Kingston, but Parrot Bay works) shopping list
- Couple cans of Lopez coconut milk shopping list
- Natural brown sugar (Steal this from Starbucks in the little brown packets instead of Splenda. hahaha) shopping list
- 2 Marachino cherries shopping list
- Crushed or cubed ice (whatever you prefer) shopping list
How to make it
- Easy version:
- Fill the glasses 1/2 full of ice
- Fill 3/4 way with Lopez coconut milk
- Fill the rest of the way with rum
- Sprinkle brown sugar on the top and plunk a cherry on there.
- Enjoy.
- Hard Version - Do NOT attempt while drunk!!!
- Equipment:
- A small keyhole saw or a hand jig saw (No electric saws, and make sure the blade is fresh and you've cleaned it)
- Table mounted Vise
- Soft towel to cushion the coconut
- Drill and 1/4 bit
- Take 2 grapefruit sized coconuts (If you are a guy, hold them in front of your crotch and chuckle to yourself. If you are a woman, you won't see the humor here... maybe. Moving on)
- Clean the shells off and wipe them off with a damp cloth. Let dry on their own.
- Place a coconut in a vise and secure it so the end with the "fingerholes" is sticking up.
- Using the drill, punch 2 small holes in the top and drain the coconut milk into a bowl.
- Use the coconut milk in various recipes or drinks (be warned: fresh coconut milk is an incredible laxitive)
- Using the keyhole saw, cut the top inch off the top making it into a cup or bowl. Whatever you call it.
- Wipe off the coconut meat with a clean damp cloth to clean it of fuzz, and repeat with the other one.
- Fill with cocorummer and a little umbrella and enjoy.
