HOT AND SPICY CORNMEAL COOKIES

- 1/3 cup all purpose flour shopping list
- 1/4 cup finely ground yellow cornmeal shopping list
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground hot chili powder shopping list
- 1/8 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter, cut up shopping list
- 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- 3 Tablespoons light corn syrup shopping list
- 1 Tablespoon lemon juice shopping list
- 1/2 cup hulled pumpkin or sunflower seeds shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350°. Line 2 cookie sheets with parchment paper.
- Sift flour, cornmeal, chili powder and salt in medium bowl.
- Melt butter with sugar and corn syrup in large saucepan over medium heat until sugar is dissolved completely.
- Remove from heat and stir in dry ingredients, lemon juice and seeds. Let cool completely.
- Form dough into balls the size of walnuts and place on cookie sheets 2 inches apart.
- Bake 8-10 minutes or until just golden around the edges.
- Transfer to racks to cool
