How to make it

  • Rub the butter into the flour. Knead. Mould into any shape you fancy
  • Bake in hot oven (or in ashes if you are cooking it in a fire).
  • Cook for 20 minutes until brown. Serve with butter and jam, honey or golden syrup

    Good old recipe, We do a dough up & the kids wind it around a stick & cook it over the camp fire as I used to do when I was 8 yrs old.... Try it & enjoy !!!!!!!!

    Thanks for the memories! I used to make this all the time as a kid learning to cook. Super easy and really tasty. I used to add shredded sharp cheese mixed with a bit of dry mustard powder to the top.
