Ingredients
  • 1 cup dry red wine or 1/2 cup grape juice plus 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 cup sugar (if using grape juice reduce sugar to 1/3 cup)
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 1 cinnamon stick (3 inches)
  • 8 whole cloves

Directions
  1. In a saucepan, combine the wine or grape juice plus the vinegar, red wine vinegar, cinnamon stick and cloves.
  2. Bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes.
  4. Strain liquid; discard cinnamon stick and cloves.
  5. Cover and refrigerate until serving.
  6. Serve this over assorted fruits like melon balls, fresh strawberries, blueberries, most any type of fruit....
