Teriyaki Sauce Recipe

Teriyaki Sauce Recipe
There is enough natural MSG in soy sauce, I dont want more from a store bought teriyaki sauce. My recipe is slightly different bu it yeilds the same results. Its cheaper and better for you this way!

Ingredients
  • 1 c soy sauce
  • 1c sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic (crushed almost flat)
  • a few splashes of white wine vinegar and cider vinegar (I know most recipes call for mirin, do not use it here or it will be too sweet).

Directions
  1. Over medium heat mix the sugar, garlic and soy sauce.
  2. simmer for at least 10 minutes.
  3. Keep watch, it can boil over very suddenly.
  4. Add vinegar 1/2 tsp each at a time ~ to taste.
  5. Be careful tasting this mix, sugar doesn't cool down quickly.
  6. Strain the garlic bits and store in the fridge.
  7. You an tell if this has gone bad if you have sugar chunks or crystals on the side ofthe storage bottle.
  8. Enjoy.
