This is my husband's favorite coffee cake. When I tell him I made a coffee cake, he asks me if it is his favorite one.

Ingredients
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2/3 cup shortening
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 cup sour milk
  • 2 eggs

Directions
  1. mix flour, sugar, salt and shortening until crumbly.
  2. add powder, soda, and spices
  3. mix well
  4. add milk and eggs
  5. pour into greased, floured 9 x 13 pan
  6. bake 375 degree bake 35-45 min
