Ingredients

How to make it

  • Place blue cheese in a bowl.
  • Mash with a fork until a smooth paste is formed.
  • If you prefer a chunkier dressing leave a few chunks in.
  • Blend in mayonnaise until cheese and mayonnaise are well mixed together.
  • Stir in the buttermilk and water.
  • Blend well.
  • Add sugar, garlic powder, and salt and pepper to taste.
  • For best results, serve immediately.
  • If you refrigerate the dressing it will deepen the flavor but will also change this white dressing to a blue direction.
  • This will then yield a thicker result.
  • If the dressing becomes too thick, simply thin it out with a little water.

Yes, this is really good. I had all the ingredients on hand except the blue cheese itself, so that made it simple to whip up. I get to eat it all, too!

Love blue cheese dressing. I love it as a dipping sauce for grilled steak.
