Holiday Poppy Seed Cookies Recipe
This is a great cookie for the holidays! You will love the poppyseed and chocolate taste.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 3 T. poppy seeds
  • 6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted

Directions
  1. Cream together butter,sugar, and salt until well blended,light and fluffy.
  2. Add vanilla and egg yolks, one at a time, beat thoroughly
  3. Stir in flour and blend well.
  4. Stirlin poppy seeds.
  5. Shape dough into 1 inch balls.
  6. Place on ungreased cookie sheet 1 inch apart.
  7. Press center of each cookie using the handle end of a wooden spoon.
  8. Bake at 375* for 10 to 12 minutes
  9. Remove from cookie sheet.
  10. Press center down again.
  11. When cold, fill enters with melted chocolate(using a baby's feeding spoon works great)

Hi Michelle.I have seen a lot of recipes that include poppy seed and they all seem so good.Unfortunately I can't find it in Egypt.Do you have any suggestions for a substitute?


Yes - I can use up my poppyseeds! These sound tasty, and I like the chocolate addition - delish again!!
