How to make it

  • Cream together butter,sugar, and salt until well blended,light and fluffy.
  • Add vanilla and egg yolks, one at a time, beat thoroughly
  • Stir in flour and blend well.
  • Stirlin poppy seeds.
  • Shape dough into 1 inch balls.
  • Place on ungreased cookie sheet 1 inch apart.
  • Press center of each cookie using the handle end of a wooden spoon.
  • Bake at 375* for 10 to 12 minutes
  • Remove from cookie sheet.
  • Press center down again.
  • When cold, fill enters with melted chocolate(using a baby's feeding spoon works great)

    Yes - I can use up my poppyseeds! These sound tasty, and I like the chocolate addition - delish again!!

    Hi Michelle.I have seen a lot of recipes that include poppy seed and they all seem so good.Unfortunately I can't find it in Egypt.Do you have any suggestions for a substitute?
