How to make it

  • English burger:
  • Mix together 450g (1 lb) minced beef, 20 ml (4tsp) Worcestershire sauce and 1.25 ml (1/4 level tsp) each salt and pepper. Prepare and cook hamburgers. Top hamburgers with a mixture of 100 ml (4fl oz) ketchup, 60 ml (4 tbsp) diced dill cucumber and 10 ml (2 tsp) creamed horseradish and place in buttered, grilled buns.
  • Pitta burger:
  • Cut pitta bread and a cooked hamburger in half. Mix together bean sprouts, shredded lettuce, sliced tomatoes and French dressing and place a little in each pocket of pitta with a hamburger half.
  • Tortilla burger:
  • Heat a 454-g (16-oz) can red kidney beans, and spread on 6 Mexican tortillas. Top with shredded lettuce, a cooked hamburger and mild taco sauce; add a fried egg and grated Cheddar cheese.
  • Berliner Burger:
  • Fry 3 large, sliced onions in 75 g (3 oz) fat. Mix 700 g (1 ½ lb) minced beef with 175 ml (6 ft oz) beer and prepares and cooks the hamburgers. Place the buns; add fried onions and dill cucumber and tomato slices.
  • Burger:
  • Prepare 8 hamburgers, sandwich in pairs with Gorgonzola cheese and cook. Toast 4 whole meal bread slices, top with lettuce, tomato slices, a hamburger, avocado slices, 30 ml (2 tbsp) Russian dressing and a spring onion.
