Pan Seared Chops with apple and Soy Ginger glaze

- 4 pork chops shopping list
- 1/2 cup flour shopping list
- 1 tsp thyme shopping list
- 1 tsp pepper shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 1/2 tbsp olike oil shopping list
- for glaze: shopping list
- 1/3 cup plu 2 tbsp apple juice shopping list
- 1/2 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 3 tbsp soy sauce shopping list
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar shopping list
- 1/2 tsp ginger shopping list
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper shopping list
- 4 apples, peeled, halved lengthwise, cored and cut int 1/2 inch wedges shopping list
- 2 tsp corn starch shopping list
How to make it
- to make glaze, bring 1/3 cup juice to simmer in large, nonstick skillet over medium high heat. add sugar, soy sauce, vinegar, ginger and pepper. stir until sugar is dissolved and sauce begins to simmer.
- add apples and stir to coat. cook, basting apples frequently, until apples just begin to soften. Mix remaining juice with cornstarch and stir into apple mixture. simmer until sauce thickens slightly.
- transfer to bowl and set aside.
- wipe out skillet to reuse.
- combine flour, thyme, pepper and salt on a plate
- dredge chops in flour mixture coating all sides. shake off excess
- Using the same pan, heat olive oil over medium heat-swirl the pan to coat the pan.
- add chops and brown on each side, turining once, about 2 minutes on each side.
- Turn heat to low and pour apple mixiture over top, cover and cook until chops are cooked through and apples are tender, about 5 minutes.
