The Glisten Glaze For Ham
From rosemaryblue 16 years agoIngredients
- 1/2 cup brown or white sugar shopping list
- 1/4 cup light corn syrup or honey shopping list
- 1 cup water shopping list
- 1-1/2 tablespoons cornstarch shopping list
How to make it
- In bowl, mix sugar and cornstarch well
- Add corn syrup or honey and water
- Mix well, by whisking
- Pour into saucepan and cook, stirring constantly, until mixture is clear
- Brush over cooked ham, just out of the oven
- Let ham stand with brushed glaze at least 20 minutes before serving
- Can be used on Canadian Bacon
- NOTE: I usually score the ham, attach pineapple slices, and whole cloves decoratively throughout the scoring, then attach a red maraschino cherry with a toothpick within the center of the pineapple ring. Upon removing ham from the oven, I then brush the GLISTEN GLAZE on the entire ham. Makes a beautiful presentation!
