Chinese New Year Egg Rolls Recipe
These egg rolls take a while to make, but after they are done, they are worth every minute that you put into making them!

Ingredients
  • 2 lbs. hot Ground Sausage
  • 2 cups chopped Celery
  • 8 chopped Green Onions
  • 1 1/2 pkg. Cole Slaw Mix, finely chopped
  • 2 cups Bean Sprouts, chopped
  • 2 tbsp. Soy Sauce
  • 2 pkg Egg Roll Wrappers
  • Enough Vegetable to fill bottom of large skillet.

Directions
  1. Cook sausage until it looses its color.
  2. Add celery, onions, cole slaw mix, and bean sprouts to sausage.
  3. Sprinkle soy sauce over top.
  4. Saute for 2 minutes.
  5. Drain and cool.
  6. Put 2 tbsp. of meat mixture in the middle of each wrapper.
  7. Fold and seal with water.
  8. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet.
  9. Drop the egg rolls into oil and fry until wrapper is golden brown.
  10. Serve with your choice of sauces.
  11. *If you are not frying right away, cover with a damp paper towel to keep from drying out.

I would have never thought of using cole slaw mix! That's a super idea.


Have made this and yes coleslaw mix is a blessing to use quicker that way thanks high5


This recipe is quick and easy! The coleslaw mix really does help speed up the prep time...We also chopped up the leftover chicken, beef and pork instead of the ground sausage...Great way to use up the leftovers!
