Sweet Autumn Spiced Pecans Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 TB water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp allspice (I used pumpkin pie spice, works fine too)
  • 1/4 tsp cloves
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 1/2 cups pecans (large pieces or halves best for this recipe)

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees
  2. Beat egg white and water until foamy (but not to soft peak)
  3. Add sugar, spices and salt and let stand until sugar dissolves (about 15 mins)
  4. Stir in nuts and mix well, coating all pieces
  5. Spread mixture on large foil-lined baking sheet
  6. Bake for 25-45 mins (depends on your oven), stirring every 15 mins
  7. Remove from oven before too brown, mixture will still be foamy, let sit until hard (10-15 mins) and break apart
  8. Put in bowl and watch them disappear !
  9. P.S. I also sprinkled them with some finely shredded bittersweet baking chocolate when I removed them from the oven, just cause I LOVE chocolate.
