Sweet Autumn Spiced Pecans

- 1 egg white shopping list
- 2 TB water shopping list
- 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/4 tsp allspice (I used pumpkin pie spice, works fine too) shopping list
- 1/4 tsp cloves shopping list
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 2 1/2 cups pecans (large pieces or halves best for this recipe) shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees
- Beat egg white and water until foamy (but not to soft peak)
- Add sugar, spices and salt and let stand until sugar dissolves (about 15 mins)
- Stir in nuts and mix well, coating all pieces
- Spread mixture on large foil-lined baking sheet
- Bake for 25-45 mins (depends on your oven), stirring every 15 mins
- Remove from oven before too brown, mixture will still be foamy, let sit until hard (10-15 mins) and break apart
- Put in bowl and watch them disappear !
- P.S. I also sprinkled them with some finely shredded bittersweet baking chocolate when I removed them from the oven, just cause I LOVE chocolate.
